Datalink, a publicly-held company focused on providing data center solutions to companies throughout the U.S., is currently searching for a Solutions Architect to be based in our Northeast Region (Philadelphia, New York City, or Boston office).

The Solutions Architect will provide technical services for customers in a highly complex data storage environment. As a key member of the services team, a Solutions Architect will provide consulting, analysis, design, and/or implementation support for data storage and protection solutions including pre-site inspections, initial implementations, customization and integration with the intent of optimizing the customer's operational benefit. This person will work closely with Datalink sales, technical services and support group, external vender partners, and the customers to ensure a smooth implementation and transition. The ideal candidate should be experienced with VMware deployments with NetApp. This person will serve as a subject matter expert to present the value of NetApp storage as part of Datalink's service portfolio.  Additionally, the candidate is expected to have experience in large scale file consolidation, Oracle, SQL or Exchange messaging infrastructures. This position will require frequent travel.

 Experiences with the following are required:

• 3 - 8 years' total hands-on experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
  • backup and recovery software
  • tape technology
  • RAID storage products
  • SAN fibre architecture
• Excellent technical pre-sales skills, including formal presentations
• Pre-Sales support of storage solutions
• Must have excellent skills in one or more of the following areas:
  • Solaris
  • HP-UX
  • AIX
  • Windows NT and/or Novell
• Excellent knowledge of with networking technologies
• Experience working with storage products on a variety of Open Systems
• Excellent analytical abilities, resulting in problem resolution
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience / training towards technical certifications

Experience with the following a plus:

• High performance storage subsystems and SAN technologies; IP SAN; iSCSI
• Database backup and restore, such as Oracle, SQL, Exchange, Sybase, DB2, etc.
• Fibre channel fabric, such as Brocade and McDATA switches
• Clustered systems or high availability solutions
• Certifications in technical software applications
